- Here are some useful tips for caring for your new window tint -

Window-Tinting

Film Dry out time

Following the application of your new window tint, you may notice small bubbles and an overall cloudy appearance to your windows. This is entirely normal and to be expected – but don’t worry, these imperfections will go away over time!
Here’s what causes this common issue: During the application of your window film, your installer will remove as much of the mounting solution as possible. However, a small amount of solution will remain, and the excess moisture may cause small water bubbles or a slightly cloudy look.
As stated before, these problems will naturally fix themselves! Do not pierce any water bubbles during the drying period, and do not try to push the water out, as this will damage your film. Eventually, the water bubbles and haziness will dissipate on their own.

Climate Conditions & Dry-Out Time

In order to get the best possible results, it is important to understand the required duration of drying time for your new tint application.

The required length of drying time depends on the type of film you select as well as the climate conditions in your area. Specifically, warm weather and direct sunlight will shorten the dry-out time, whereas cooler, cloudier climates can lengthen the drying period. Furthermore, thicker films - such as architectural films or high-performance automotive films - can lengthen the drying period.
Should slow-drying occur with your residential, commercial or automotive installation, do not be alarmed. Moisture trapped under this new film may take 3 to 14 days to properly dry-out.

Cleaning

For automotive tint applications, it is best to wait 7-14 days to clean the film. For residential and/or commercial applications, it is recommended to not clean the film for 30 days after installation. This will ensure proper curing of the special-mounting adhesive to the glass.

Cleaning Solutions

We recommend avoiding ammonia-based glass cleaners; otherwise, most branded glass-cleaners work well. You may also use any alcohol-based window cleaner or an ounce of liquid dish soap added to 1 quart of fresh water.

Cleaning Materials

Always use clean, soft materials to wash and dry your window film surfaces. To avoid scratching the film, do not use bristle brushes, rough paper towels, abrasive scrubbing sponges, or any cleaning materials that may have been contaminated with dirt particles.

Following this care guide will help ensure the look and longevity of your window tint application. If you have any further questions about window tint care, please call or email us.
